Terms of Business
1. Introduction
These Terms of Business set out the basis on which we provide legal services to our clients. They explain our responsibilities to you and your responsibilities to us.
By instructing us, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Business, together with any accompanying client care letter or engagement terms provided at the outset of your matter.

3. Scope of Our Services
We provide legal advice and representation in immigration and related matters. The scope of our work for you will be confirmed in writing at the start of your matter.
We will only advise on matters expressly agreed. Any additional work will require further agreement and may incur additional fees.
We do not guarantee outcomes, as immigration decisions are made by the Home Office, courts, or tribunals and depend on individual circumstances.
4. Instructions and Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and honest information
- Respond promptly to requests for instructions or documents
- Notify us immediately of any changes in your circumstances
- Comply with deadlines and advice provided
We are not responsible for delays, refusals, or adverse outcomes arising from incomplete, inaccurate, or late information provided by you.
5. Fees and Charges
a) Fee Structure
Our fees may be charged:
- On a fixed-fee basis, or
- On an hourly rate basis, or
- A combination of both
The applicable fee structure will be confirmed in writing before work begins.
b) Disbursements
Disbursements are third-party costs such as:
- Home Office application fees
- Tribunal or court fees
- Barristers’ fees
- Expert reports or interpreters
Disbursements are payable by you in addition to our fees.
c) Payment Terms
Invoices are payable in accordance with the terms stated on the invoice. We reserve the right to:
- Require payment in advance
- Suspend work if invoices remain unpaid
6. Estimates
Any estimate of costs or timeframes provided is an estimate only and not a fixed quotation unless expressly stated. Immigration matters are subject to external delays beyond our control.
7. Regulatory and Compliance Obligations
As solicitors, we are required to comply with legal and regulatory obligations, including:
- Anti-money laundering and identity verification
- Disclosure obligations to courts or authorities where required by law
We may refuse to act or cease acting if compliance requirements are not met.
8. Confidentiality and Data Protection
We will treat your information as confidential, subject to legal and regulatory exceptions. Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms of Business.
9. Third Parties and Experts
Where appropriate, we may instruct third parties such as barristers, experts, or interpreters on your behalf. We will take reasonable care in selecting them but are not responsible for their acts or omissions.
10. Limitation of Liability
Our liability to you is limited to the extent permitted by law. We do not accept liability for:
- Decisions made by the Home Office, courts, or tribunals
- Delays caused by third parties or authorities
- Losses arising from information provided by you that is inaccurate or incomplete
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Termination of Instructions
You may terminate our instructions at any time by written notice. Fees incurred up to the date of termination will remain payable.
We may cease acting where:
- Fees remain unpaid
- There is a breakdown in trust or cooperation
- Continuing would breach legal or regulatory obligations
12. Complaints Procedure
We are committed to providing a high standard of service. If you are unhappy with our service, you may raise a complaint in accordance with our Complaints Procedure, available on our website or upon request.
You may also have the right to complain to the Legal Ombudsman if we are unable to resolve your complaint.
13. Professional Indemnity Insurance
We maintain professional indemnity insurance in accordance with SRA requirements. Details are available upon request.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms of Business are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Business from time to time. The most current version will always be available on our website.
