Spouse & Family Visas
The minimum income requirement is currently £29,000 per year for couples without children. This increases by £3,800 for the first child and £2,400 for each additional child. Income can come from employment, self-employment, pension, or certain other sources.
An initial spouse visa is granted for 33 months. After this, you can apply for a 30-month extension. After 5 years total, you may be eligible to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (settlement).
Yes, spouse visa holders have unrestricted right to work in the UK. There are no restrictions on the type of employment or hours you can work.
